Style & Design

The Nissan Altima offers a sleek appearance with aerodynamic accent lines running down the sides, a raised hood, and a chrome border around a bold mesh grille. Inside, you'll find the same balance with a sporty flat-bottom leather-wrapped steering wheel and available leather seats.

The Honda Accord has a more conservative design with a round body. It features a chrome bar running across the front but doesn't have much of a grille to speak of. Both leather seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel-but without a flat bottom-are available inside, but the cabin doesn't have the same athletic edge to it.

Infotainment System

The Altima ties its interior together with an 8-inch touch-screen on top of the dashboard. The NissanConnect® infotainment system keeps you connected with lots of standard smartphone compatibility. There's a Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System, a Hands-free Text Messaging Assistant, Apple CarPlay®, and Android Auto™.

Nissan Voice Recognition is also available, so you can put on your favorite playlist, make a call, or open an app without taking your eyes off the road. You'll even be able to enter an address and get turn-by-turn directions with Nissan Door to Door Navigation with Premium Traffic.

The Honda Accord offers all the same smartphone capability as well as voice control and a navigation system. However, only Bluetooth® comes standard. Neither Apple CarPlay® nor Android Auto™ is available on its standard 7-inch touch-screen.

Safety Features

Both sedans let you use your dashboard monitor to get a closer look at what's behind you. The Altima builds on this by offering technology that focuses on what's around your car and how you're driving. Nissan Safety Shield® 360 helps prevent accidents with driver-assistance features, such as:

• Blind Spot Warning
• Lane Departure Warning
• Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection
• Rear Automatic Braking

All this technology can give you more awareness of what's around you, but Intelligent Driver Alertness reminds you to focus on the road. It analyzes your driving patterns to look for any signs of drowsy or distracted driving.

The Altima also makes sure you're protected if the unexpected happens. It features 10 airbags, including roof-mounted side curtain airbags and side-impact airbags that cover both rows of seats.

The Honda Accord also comes with a bunch of driver-assistance features. While its Honda Sensing® system is standard on every trim level, it doesn't include Blind Spot Warning or offer anything like Intelligent Driver Alertness. Plus, the interior isn't quite as well protected with only eight airbags.
