Specs & Fuel Economy

The 2020 Nissan Rogue runs on a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine that gets up to 170 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. This motor works with an Xtronic CVT® (Continuously Variable Transmission). Together, this efficient combination helps the Rogue get up to an EPA-estimated 26 city/33 highway MPG.i

The Hyundai Tucson is powered by a slightly smaller 2.0L 4-cylinder engine. It can't quite deliver as much power with just 161 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque. Its 6-speed automatic transmission isn't quite as efficient as the CVT®, either. This results in more trips to the pump with an EPA-estimated 23 city/28 highway MPG.

Interior Dimensions

Both SUVs offer seating for five riders and plenty of room to relax. The Nissan Rogue lets you stretch your legs with 43 inches of legroom behind the wheel. The Hyundai Tucson is a bit smaller up front with only 41.5 inches of legroom.

The Nissan also gives you more space for your things. The trunk features 39.3 cubic feet of cargo room. Plus, the Divide-N-Hide® Cargo System helps you keep things organized with collapsible shelves and cargo dividers. If you ever need to load more, you can fold down the back seats and get up to 70 cubic feet of cargo room.

With only 31 cubic feet of space, the Hyundai has a smaller trunk. It also makes it harder to keep things organized. There's no storage system like the one you'll find in the Rogue. While it does come with folding second-row seats, you'll only be able to get up to 61.9 cubic feet of cargo room.

Safety Features

The Nissan Rogue also gives you peace of mind with lots of smart safety features. It helps prevent accidents with Nissan Safety Shield™360. This system gives you more awareness during your drive with numerous standard driver-assistance features, such as:

  • Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Blind Spot Warning
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert
  • RearView Monitor

The Hyundai Tucson also includes some driver-assistance features. While the safety technology is similar, it doesn't include Blind Spot Warning or Rear Cross Traffic Alert on every trim level.
