2025 Nissan Armada vs 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe
Can these SUVs carry their own weight? That’s the question we ask when we dig into 3-row vehicles, and we mean it in both power capacity and enjoyment factor. Taking these points into consideration, the new 2025 Armada has a more capable powertrain and more features to experience in both safety and cabin amenities.

Performance
Under the hood of the new 2025 Armada, you’ll behold a 3.5L twin-turbo V6 capable of 425 horsepower and 516 lb.-ft. of torque. This is the only engine option because frankly, it’s all you need to carry you through your many adventures. The new Armada has no issues towing as much as 8,500 pounds, and it can do even more with the incredible upgrades that Nissan has to offer in this iconic 8-seater. The adaptive electronic air suspension system raises and lowers to fit the situation so you have nothing to worry about when traversing off-road. Even the Armada’s available Intelligent 4WD system is fluid, coming in 4H and 4L modes at your command.
Neither of the Tahoe’s engine options can match the horsepower output in the Armada. The 2025 Tahoe’s standard 5.3L V8 is only capable of 355 HP with the available 6.2L V8 upgrade only putting out 420 HP. The AWD upgrade is pretty ordinary and not built for modern-day capabilities like Nissan’s Intelligent 4WD system. Your available choices in the new Tahoe encompass magnetic ride control, Autotrac, and a four-corner air ride adaptive suspension system, but no amount of these upgrades can change the fact that the Tahoe is simply not as powerful. This is proof of Nissan’s ability to do more with less in the new Armada.
Safety Features
Nissan equipped the 2025 Armada with a wealth of safety and driver-assist features as standard which is something we will gladly celebrate. However, the list of available upgrades is even more intriguing for those curious about what’s new in modern technology. Armada owners can finally experience hands-free and foot-off freeway driving with ProPILOT Assist 2.1 being the latest version of this iconic system by Nissan. The new Armada also supports Intelligent Dash Cam which records footage of your ride inside and out to add to your personal album of treasured memories. Get clear photos of scenic views as you approach your vacation spot or video clips of your family having the time of their lives full of laughter and smiles! Of course, you can also use this dashcam for evidence should you ever need to make an insurance claim.

Like every other SUV, the new Tahoe also comes with basic driver-assist features like automatic emergency braking and lane assist. Unfortunately, the Tahoe is lacking in available upgrades as well. All add-ons focus on various camera angles with up to 14 views and surround vision. Nothing too out of the ordinary for a ride of this magnitude. One feature that may be unfamiliar to many is the available rear camera mirror which projects the backup camera onto the rearview mirror, although we’re not sure when this would be incredibly useful compared to just viewing your camera from your center screen.
Interior
In the new Armada, everyone feels like a VIP. Quilted leather-appointed seats are shared between the first and second rows so everyone can indulge in high-end taste. However, the rugged appeal is still apparent throughout the cabin so the Armada doesn’t lose sight of its aggressive spirit. An available 14.3-inch dual-screen setup is rather new in 2025 Nissan vehicles, amping up your displays for greater accessibility. Screen time is also shared with backseat passengers via a rear entertainment system created for watching shows and movies on the road. The 12-speaker Klipsch audio system upgrade is available for the entire family to enjoy.
Heated and ventilated front-row bucket seats in the Tahoe may sound nice, but the Armada does the same thing while throwing in massaging and 12-way power adjustments. The Tahoe offers a similar screen size, but rather than having two screens of identical size, the infotainment screen is 17.7 inches while the driver display is 11 inches. Looking at this setup from the driver’s point of view just feels awkward and clunky, taking away from the satisfaction of perfect symmetry. Another point goes to the Armada for offering more high-quality speakers compared to the Tahoe’s available 10-speaker Bose system.
Bottom Line
While nothing can impact the Tahoe’s renowned popularity, you can rest assured that going with the 2025 Armada will reward you with more to enjoy like curated power, next-gen features, and a luxurious cabin.
