2025 Nissan Armada Video Review
Car Confections is giving us an up-close, in-depth look at the all-new 2025 Nissan Armada, and there’s a lot to say. With a complete redesign—featuring more tech and power, plus a fresh look, Nissan’s making a serious statement in the full-size SUV segment. The question is—does the new Armada have what it takes to take on its closest rivals?
A Bold New Look With a Focus on Presence
Josh thought the 2025 Armada came out swinging with a more aggressive, squared-off stance that makes it look tougher than ever. The signature V-Motion grille has been reworked, now featuring horizontal elements that emphasize width, and stacked Crystal LED headlights give it a modern, upscale presence on the road.
One of the biggest exterior upgrades is the Adaptive Air Suspension, available on the Pro-4X and Platinum Reserve. Not only does this improve ride quality, but it also allows for height adjustments, better approach angles for off-roading, and an overall smoother drive.
Josh also points out that towing capacity is an impressive 8,500 pounds, putting it ahead of most competitors in the segment.
Luxury Meets High-Tech in the Cabin
Stepping inside, Josh immediately notices how drastically improved the interior is. Nissan didn’t just refresh the design—they rebuilt the Armada’s cabin with higher-quality materials, better tech, and a more premium feel.
The Platinum and Platinum Reserve trims feature quilted leather seating with power massage functions, inspired by the Infiniti QX80. The new 14.3-inch dual-display infotainment system seamlessly merges with a 14.3-inch digital gauge cluster, creating a sleek, modern cockpit. The infotainment system is powered by Google, meaning built-in Google Maps, voice assistant, and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto are all included.
Josh was also impressed by the Klipsch 12-speaker premium audio system, which he said delivers seriously good sound quality. And with the three-row layout, Nissan made sure to optimize space—more legroom, better thigh support, and power-reclining third-row seats all contribute to making it one of the most comfortable full-size SUVs in the class.
Cargo space is another highlight, with 20 cubic feet behind the third row, expanding to 97 cubic feet with all seats down. That puts it ahead of the Toyota Sequoia.
A More Powerful Engine
The 5.6L V8 is gone, and Nissan replaced it with a 3.5L twin-turbocharged V6—a move that Josh believes will pay off in a big way. The new engine delivers 425 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, making it significantly more powerful than the outgoing V8.
Josh pointed out that this engine is closely related to the twin-turbo V6 found in the Nissan GT-R, which means it’s built for performance. Paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and available four-wheel drive, the Armada now delivers quicker acceleration and improved fuel efficiency.
Smarter Safety & Hands-Free Driving Tech
Nissan made safety a priority with this redesign, and it shows. Josh highlighted that every 2025 Armada comes standard with Nissan Safety Shield 360, meaning you get:
- Automatic Emergency Braking
- Blind Spot Monitoring
- Lane Departure Warning
- Rear Cross-Traffic Alert
- High-Beam Assist
Upper trims take things even further with ProPilot Assist 1.1, which adds lane-centering and adaptive cruise control. The Platinum Reserve can even come with ProPilot Assist 2.1, allowing for hands-free highway driving.
The 2025 Armada Just Became the SUV to Beat
Josh thinks Nissan finally nailed it with this redesign. The 2025 Armada has more power, more tech, more capability, and a significantly upgraded interior. It’s still an Armada at heart, but smarter stronger than ever before.
